Rent (Broadway)

RENT by Jonathan Larson at the Nederlander Theatre on Broadway (4/29/1996 – 9/07/2008).  Loosely based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Bohème”.

Starring Taye Diggs, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Jesse L. Martin, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Fredi Walker.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, friends in Manhattan’s East Village struggle to build the lives of their dreams. Pennilessness, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, social tension, and political unrest, among other hardships, challenge the group physically and emotionally. Facing the problems head on, they make personal self-discoveries and find what really matters most in life.

As Founder and CEO of and  The pioneer in moving the Broadway industry onto the internet.  What started in 1989 as a service called ShowCall via dialup BBS for members of the League of American Theatre Producers evolved onto the world wide web in 1993, and shortly after this,  the vast majority of Broadway shows (starting with Victor/Victoria) and theatrical organizations followed.
